Give Manus a phone. Real calls, your approval, grounded answers.
Open Calls gives Manus the ability to make real phone calls: add the agent MCP server with a bearer token from your account, and Manus can quote, place and report calls with your approval.
copies the setup prompt and opens Manus; Manus connects itself, you approve with Google
Preview: the agent MCP endpoint and bearer flow are verified with our own client; a live Manus session has not been exercised yet.
What Manus can do with a phone
Check whether a shop has something in stock and what it costs
Ask a clinic, office or hotel a question and bring back the answer with the quote
Wait through a phone menu and hold, then bring you in when a person answers
Call several places with the same question and compare the answers
Translate a call both ways when you join
How it connects
A Streamable HTTP MCP server (https://opencalls.dev/agent/mcp) with an Authorization: Bearer token created under Connections.
Paste the setup prompt into Manus. Manus starts a pairing and opens the approval page in its browser.
Sign in with Google and approve. Manus collects its own token and adds the Open Calls MCP server.
Give your mobile number on the same page: your AI calls you for a free minute.
Ask Manus to run get_workspace, then for a first call to a business, with a maximum you approve.
The getting-started prompt
I am new to Open Calls (opencalls.dev), an AI phone-calling service. Walk me through setting it up and making a first test call with the free minute, one step at a time, waiting for me to confirm each step.
1) Connect first, by pairing; I never paste a key. Give yourself the ability to make phone calls for me through Open Calls (opencalls.dev), an AI phone-calling service. Connect by pairing; I never paste a key:
2) 1) Start pairing: POST https://opencalls.dev/api/pair with JSON {"agent":"manus"} and no authentication. The reply has url, code, expires_in and interval.
3) 2) Open the url in your browser for me, or show it to me if you cannot browse: I sign in with Google there and approve the connection. Wait for me; do not guess.
4) 3) Poll GET https://opencalls.dev/api/pair/<code> every 3 seconds until status is "approved" (the request is valid for 15 minutes). That reply carries the credential exactly once as token. Add the MCP server https://opencalls.dev/agent/mcp (Streamable HTTP) with the request header Authorization: Bearer <token>, keeping the token in your credential field. Never repeat the token in this conversation.
5) 4) Confirm: call get_workspace and tell me that my account is connected, my available credit, the destination rates and its next_step.
6) Free minute: on the page where I approve the connection (or at https://opencalls.dev/app/start) I give my mobile number and you call me at once for a one-minute introduction, free and without a card; that number becomes my callback number. Calling anyone else needs credit I add myself in https://opencalls.dev/app/billing.
7) First test call: I will give you my own mobile number. Quote the maximum charge for a one-minute call from the destination rates in get_workspace, ask for my approval, then use call_business in ask mode to call me and ask one simple question, for example what I would like for lunch tomorrow. Poll get_call until it ends and tell me exactly what I answered, with the supporting quote. After that we can try a real business.
Getting-started guide: https://opencalls.dev/start
Never place a call, spend credit or change settings without asking me first; every call needs my explicit approval and a maximum charge.
Only into Manus's own server-credential field, never into a conversation. Revoke or delete it under Connections at any time.
What does a call cost?
Pay as you go at $0.25 per minute of AI conversation, billed by the second after a one-minute minimum, with a cheaper waiting rate while the line keeps the AI on hold. Your assistant quotes the maximum before every call and you approve it.
Does my assistant call anyone without asking?
No. Every call needs your explicit approval and a maximum charge, calls are information-only, and you can stop a call at any time.
Is there free calling time to try it?
Yes. Sign in with Google, give your mobile number, and your AI calls you for a free minute to introduce itself, with no card. After that, add credit to call anyone.
Which countries can it call?
United States, Canada, Israel and the United Kingdom today, with per-destination rates shown before you approve.
